About FC3

The Forest City Community Cup or FC3 was created by a group of like minded individuals who wanted to give back to the community. Founded on the principle that great things can happen through the fun and learning of gaming. The Forest City Community Cup's mission is to raise funds for local charities and non-profit organizations through a donation prized Magic the Gathering tournament event.
  • The inaugural Forest City Community Cup was run January 23, 2016 at Top Cut Comics - Rockford benefiting The Literacy Council of Rockford.
  • The second Forest City Community Cup was run January 21, 2017 at Top Cut Comics - Rockford benefiting CASA.
  • The third Forest City Community Cup was run Jan 27, 2018 at Top Cut Comics - Rockford benefiting YAVO.

Andrew Wright is a Level One judge, running Friday Night Magic drafts every week at Top Cut South.  Andrew's been playing Magic since his Luther College days in 1994 (Revised Edition/The Dark). His first experience playing Magic in Rockford was at Cannova's Pizza in 1995, when that was the only venue hosting Magic events.  Andrew's been a tournament organizer for Deanna's Used Book Store, Warhawk Hobbies and the Jewish Community Center.  When he's not playing Magic, you can find him helping small businesses as an AFLAC associate and announcing the Rockford Rage Roller Derby as "Hurricane" Andrew.

Kaleb Del Rio
Kaleb has been in the gaming community for over 15 years starting young with the Pokémon Trading Card Game but spent most of his childhood within the store learning every possible game that he could to further expand his knowledge and love for all things geeky. He's been working for Top Cut Comics for about 6 years now, spending most of that time at our South Rockford location to help it grow into the hot spot of gaming that it is today. I was drawn to the concept of the Forest City Community Cup (FC3) because I want as many people as possible to experience that childhood wonder that I did when I was growing up. Being able to meet people from all walks of life who can bond over a common interest.
